Apolipoprotein AIV is actively synthesized in the small intestine during fat absorption and incorporated onto the surface of nascent chylomicrons that are then secreted into lymph. When these chylomicrons enter plasma, Apo-AIV dissociates from the surface and is found primarily in the lipoprotein-free fraction.

Purity: >=85% by SDS-PAGE ; immunoreactive by Western Blot to antisera to human apolipoprotein A4
