Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein present in exocrine secretions and in the secondary granules of polymorphonuclear neutrophils. Lactoferrin is known to regulate intestinal iron absorption, and to participate in the defense against bacteria.

Purity: >= 95% by SDS-PAGE.

Prepared from whole blood shown to be non reactive for HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA approved tests.
