Athens Research & Technology Terms and Conditions
Ordering
You may order on-line or you may fax, mail or email your purchase order. Please use the full product description, product catalog number, unit size, quantity required and include any special instructions (i.e. lot number). Packaging is subject to change without notice and must be confirmed at the time order is placed.
General Product Characteristics
Unless described otherwise on the product description, Athens Research & Technology products are not immunogens, are not suitable for cell culture applications, and require special storage conditions and handling. Athens Research & Technology may further purify its products to immunogen grade (ie>=99% pure) or tissue culture grade (EU<1/mg). These additional purification services are priced per customer request.
Prices
Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars. Pricing and information are subject to change without notice and must be verified at time of order.
Fees
Handling Fees: For domestic orders there is a handling fee of $20.00 per order; for international orders there is a handling fee of $25.00 per order.
Minimum Order Fee: Orders for products totaling less than $100 are subject to a $20 minimum order fee.
The Dry Ice fee is $25 per order.
Shipping
Products are shipped by Federal Express standard overnight service unless the buyer requests Priority I service. Terms are FOB Shipping Point Athens, GA U.S.A. with freight added to invoice or billed to Buyers Federal Express account number.
Duties and Taxes
All duties and taxes on international orders are the responsibility of the recipient and will be assessed not by Athens Research & Technology but by the recipient's national customs agency.
Payment
Please pay by invoice. Athens Research & Technology does not issue statements.
Terms of sale are net 30 days date of invoice; all payments must be made in U.S. dollars. A 1.5% monthly late charge on account balances over 30 days will be added to your account.
With respect to checks, funds must be drawn on a U.S. bank and must be for the full amount of the invoice. Deductions made for bank, clearance or exchange charges will not be accepted. All checks returned are subject to an additional charge of $40.00. Payments made by wire transfer must include any bank charges associated with the transfer assessed by the payee's bank.
VISA and MasterCard are also accepted. Credit card information may be relayed by phone or fax. Credit Card information is handled according to our Privacy Policy and considered secured data.
Bulk Quotations and Contracts
Quantity discounts are available for individual bulk orders or annual contracts. Please call for more specific information. We normally guarantee our quotations for 30 days.
Customer Requested Hold
All holds (reservations) must be requested by either email or fax. Athens Research & Technology will not hold product on the basis of a verbal request. Further if while the product is on hold, another customer asks for the material, Athens Research & Technology will call the customer who placed a hold on the item and ask the customer to issue a purchase order within 24 hours or release the hold.
Product Specifications
Specification sheets or certificates of analysis for the products Athens Research & Technology prepares are available on our website www.athensresearch.com. If you require lot specific information, please call Customer Service Department 706-546-0207 to request lot availability and lot specific certificates of analyses prior to placing your order.
Complaint Policy
All complaints must be lodged by the customer by phone or fax within 7 days of the product ship date.
Complaints may be of the following types:
- Problems with exterior labeling that caused delivery delays both domestic and international
- Packaging integrity: broken vials, under or over filled vials
- Errors and omissions in product information
- Product Quality: Product shipped does not meet Athens Research & Technology published specifications
- Order Processing Error: Product shipped is not the product the customer ordered, or is not the quantity the customer ordered.
- Federal Express errors
- Customer order errors, requests for wrong product, wrong quantity
- Customer need exceeds Athens Research & Technology specifications
Resolution of Customer complaints
After considering the timing and root cause of the complaint, Athens Research & Technology may
- Replace product
- Provide correct, complete documentation by email or fax
- Provide price adjustment
Complaints 6, 7, and 8 are not in the power of Athens Research & Technology to resolve.
Cancellation and Returns
All Athens Research & Technology products are warranted to meet specifications (purity, activity, concentration, etc.) as stated on the Specification Sheet or Certificate of Analysis that ships with the product. Suitability for applications not qualified in the Athens Research & Technology laboratory is not guaranteed and is not reason for return of product.
Athens Research & Technology will not replace or provide a refund for product that has been damaged due to improper handling and/or improper storage, including storage beyond normal shelf life.
Unauthorized returns are not eligible for credit and are subject to be returned to the sender, freight collect.
As for cancellation, an order for material in stock may be cancelled prior to shipping; an order for material that is being prepared per the customer request, including a product Athens Research & Technology may routinely prepare, but in a quantity that is not routine, is not subject to cancellation.
Warranty and Limitation of Liability
Unless otherwise expressly stated, all products listed herein are supplied for research use or further manufacturing only and should not be used for human therapeutic or diagnostic applications. The entire risk as to the performance of this product is assumed by you, the customer. Athens Research & Technology shall not be liable for indirect, special or consequential damages resulting from use of the product. Any implied warranties relating to the product, including any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular research use or other purpose, are disclaimed.
The foregoing is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Athens Research & Technology be responsible for lost profits or indirect or consequential damages, including but not limited to personal injuries, resulting from the use of the products.
