Secretory Immunoglobulin A (SigA) is the primary immunoglobulin on most mucosal surfaces. SigA is a polypetide complex made up of two IgA monomers, a connecting J chain, and the secretory component. Located on mucosal surfaces, SigA provides protection by preventing invasion of pathogens.
